Our History

The foundation of STEM Synergy was inspired by the science center built by the Gelfand Family Charitable Trust in 2004 at the Yemin Orde Youth Village in Israel. Since then, in East Africa we have estblished 18 STEM centers, 75 virtual computing labs, 4 shared-science high schools, plus national science competitions and a national science museum. We continue to forge ahead, partnering our programs with NGOs such as UNESCO, IsraAID, Engineers Without Borders, Joint Distribution Committe, etc.  We are a tiny band of initiators with a huge positive footprint.

Our programs can be found in Ethiopia, Israel, Kenya, South Sudan, Rwanda, Uganda, Burundi, and Kurdistan.
